Support Questions

How often should I have my slit lamp or phoroptor serviced?

We recommend once every two years. Preventive maintenance extends the life of your equipment, provides protection for your investment, saves real time and money in future repair costs, and assures that the instruments will always be accurate and in the finest working order.

How do I find a replacement bulb?

Give us a call. We stock most bulbs and batteries for immediate shipment. Your ophthalmic instruments are completely engineered from the source of illumination to the instrument’s usage. Lamp manufacture is a very critical part of this system. Keep in mind that the performance of your instruments will suffer if the bulbs are not absolutely correct.

We only sell bulbs that are produced or recommended by the instrument manufacturers.

Are loaner instruments available?

Yes, we have many instruments available for use as loaners. Availability is sometimes an issue, so please let us know if a loaner is needed for your situation.

Also, consider having your instruments serviced during vacations or holidays.

Will you help me relocate my practice?

Yes, equipment relocation is an important service that we provide. Disassembly, packing, transporting, testing and calibration are all handled by our factory trained technicians.

You will feel confident that, on your new office's opening day, you will be able to see patients with efficiency and no confusion.

Can you reupholster my shabby exam chairs?

We can completely recondition your existing chair. We will strip the chair down and, if needed, rebuild the lift motor, rewire the electrical system, and fully reupholster the seat, backrest and armrests in a contemporary color. We will provide a free loaner chair.
